- Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore! - Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore! - He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler. - The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace. - The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works. - Surely the Lord God does nothing,
Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. - That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.
- Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples! - He who guards his mouth preserves his life,
But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. - And in that day you will say:
“Praise the Lord, call upon His name;
Declare His deeds among the peoples,
Make mention that His name is exalted.” - So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
- A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps. - I have not departed from the commandment of His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth
More than my necessary food. - For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
- And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.
- The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me—
A prayer to the God of my life. - For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
- He who builds His layers in the sky,
And has founded His strata in the earth;
Who calls for the waters of the sea,
And pours them out on the face of the earth—
The Lord is His name. - For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. - Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
- Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
- Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
- In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
- You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
- Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.A wise son makes a glad father,
